Where to find more data

Yves de Montcheuil | March 25, 2015
The more relevant input data is, the more useful insights from business intelligence will be. There are many sources of data that are often untapped by organisations.

Open and syndicated data
Tremendous added value can be gained from using data obtained from third parties: open data -- most often provided by a government body or other public institution, and data about just anything (individual/company demographics or habits, financial records, geographical information, etc.) that can be procured from a variety of commercial sources.

No more tradeoff
Getting and storing more data is now affordable, and can easily be automated with modern integration tools and/or REST APIs. If you suspect added input can be useful to the business intelligence processes, now is the time to go for it!
