Veeam Software, a backup, replication, and virtualisation software specialist, remains optimistic of expansion and growth this year after reporting a record 2012.
The company said its revenues for the Asia Pacific region rose as enterprises started to embrace virtualisation. Annual bookings across the Asia Pacific region grew 67 percent while new licence bookings revenues increased 52 percent compared to 2011 fiscal year.
Meanwhile, total bookings revenues in Singapore increased 55 percent while new licence bookings revenue grew 42 percent.
"Businesses in Asia Pacific are continuing to embrace virtualisation and we are delighted to have attracted 1,500 new customers across the region over the past year," said Don Williams, regional director, APAC, Veeam Software, which specialises in VMware vSphere and Windows Server Hyper-V.
The new customers from the region join the more than 57,000 Veeam customers worldwide and more than eight million Virtual Machines (VMs) protected, the company said.
Aside from adding new customers in the region, the company also counted as its achievements the release of a number of products last year, including backup and replication software (version 6.5) and the Veeam Backup Management Suite. For the VMware and Hyper-V, Veeam offered customers the Backup Free Edition with VeeamZIP capability.
The adoption of cloud computing in the region also helped boost Veeam's business. The company's cloud business saw revenues grow by 174 percent for the full year 2012 and 235 percent for the fourth quarter alone.
Williams said positive results in 2012 put the company in a strong position for 2013 and look forward to expanding further across the region.
Veeam opened its Singapore office only in the third quarter 2012 but it was the impetus to expand further in the region, including India.
For 2013, part of the company's expansion plans include expanding in Hong Kong and growing its Singapore presence by another 20 percent. In Sydney, Veeam Software also plans to grow its team of engineers responsible for regional customer support operations.
In a press statement, Veeam also expressed confidence in growing its business in the region by as much as 55 percent this year.
