It's Spotify's first birthday -- the incredibly popular music streaming service, which boasts millions of tracks and thousands of albums from mainstream and independent artists, has been around in Australia for a year as of today.

To celebrate, the folks at Spotify's Australian office have released some stats about its first year of operation. Some interesting tid-bits: electronic artist Flume, known mainly for Holdin On from his self-titled debut from 2012, is the most popular local act, while Macklemore & Ryan Lewis snagged the top spot courtesy of Thrift Shop and the The Heist album.

Of Monsters And Men's Little Talks is the number one most-listened track, though, and their My Head Is An Animal album is also the most popular, beating Alt-J and Ed Sheeran.

Spotify has also used the opportunity to announce Spotify Charts, a service that updates weekly with the most-streamed or most-shared tracks on Spotify.
