SAP Asia is now offering a two-year SAP Startup Focus Acceleration Program in Singapore, in support of the republic's smart nation vision.
Launched together with the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and Singapore-based investment firm August Capital Partners (ACP), the programme will be open to startups focusing on big data, predictive analytics or real-time data solutions.
Participants will gain access to more than S$10 million funding along with mentorship from SAP executives, entrepreneurs, investors and IT business leaders to develop new apps based on SAP HANA technology, and to help them gainmarket traction for their solutions. SAP will also provide the necessary hardware and software for the development of proofs-of-concept and pilot projects.
According to Francois Lancon, president and managing director of SAP South East Asia, Singapore is the ideal place for startups given its supportive government policies, attractive talent pool, robust infrastructure and financing efficiency. The programme thus aims to "encourage local startups to innovate and develop solutions that unleash the potential of the SAP HANA platform", he added.
The SAP Startup Focus Acceleration Program is part of SAP's collaboration with IDA, following the signing of a Memorandum of Intent in October 2014. Singapore-based startups which have already benefitted from this programme through the SAP Co-Innovation Lab Singapore are ZelRealm Interactive and YFind Technologies.
