Mercedes AMG Petronas (Mercedes) driver Lewis Hamilton echoed Mayer's sentiment. "Even though I prefer traditional racing [in which technology doesn't play a big part in the outcome of a race], technology is undeniably a part of our lives today. And wearables such as smartglasses and smartwatches could help improve a driver's performance."
As part of their partnership, Mercedes and Epson are currently working together on projects involving Epson's wearable technology. Drivers could potentially use the Moverio smartglasses, Runsense GPS sports watches and its PS-500 Pulsense heart rate monitors to improve their health and fitness.
