Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad (PAMB) has continued its strategy of using mobile apps to better engage its customers with a new smart phone based application called PRUaccess.

PAMB's chief operations officer Aman Chowla said PRUaccess provides a one stop solution for Prudential's' existing and potential customers to access the company's full listing of panel hospitals with navigation details to their preferred hospital.

This move follows the release in August 2014 of another mobile app called PRUproduct for the insurance firm's agents. At that launch, PAMB chief executive officer Philip Seah commented: "Besides providing [our agents] with opportunities for continuous learning, we also equip them with the technology and tools to ensure that they are able to meet the demands of increasingly savvy customers."

Of PRUaccess, Chawla added that Customers could also view a list of doctors at a particular hospital, which included details such as their specialisations and facilities available.

"PRUaccess was created in response to the changing needs of our customers," he said. "We realised that with customers always on the move, we needed to come up with a mobile application that encompasses mobility, convenience and user-friendliness in line with our Digital Strategy,"

Chawla said that with a tap or swipe, customers will be able to obtain navigation details to their preferred hospital or doctor from their current location. Other features include a one touch call to emergency numbers, room and board rates for each hospital, and important information regarding the hospital admission and discharge process.

Customers can download PRUaccess from the Apple App store, Google Play store or Windows store.

Established in 1924, Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad (PAMB) provides savings, protection and investment services through 43 branches nationwide with a staff of about 1,400.
