Progress has launched its new cloud-based application platform, Progress Pacific in Indonesia, the software company announced recently.
Company sources said the new Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solution is targeted at enterprises, independent software vendors and developers.
It was unveiled as part of StartUp Asia's Hackathon event in Jakarta, which started on November 21.
The platform enables developers to rapidly create and deploy data-driven business applications that are unlimited by device or cloud, integrating seamlessly with real-time data from multiple sources for faster business reaction, analysis and problem solving.
"Indonesia is fast becoming a hotspot for mobile applications in Asia, with a thriving IT sector and a steadily increasing digitally-savvy population," said Stephen McNulty, managing director of Asia Pacific and Japan at Progress. "We realize the ever-increasing need for developers and businesses to be able to build and deliver solutions quickly in order to stay ahead of the game in today's rapidly changing business environment."
"We want to be able to demonstrate how easily enterprise applications can be developed on Progress Pacific and how the platform can help developers do this, taking away the need to spend years designing, writing and testing code. Most of our customers and partners have been able to benefit from the business value that the platform delivers," said McNulty.
