Parallels charged up for growth in Greater China

New distributor, additional local resellers and new hires boost Chinese market coverage for maker of Parallels Desktop for Mac software, according to the company

Parallels has recently announced the continued growth of the company’s Cross-Platforms Solutions business in the Greater China region, which includes the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.  

According to IDC, Apple's desktop PC, notebook PC, and tablet unit shipments collectively grew 35 percent in the Greater China region in 2013.  Cross-Platform Solutions business of Parallels includes Parallels Desktop for Mac family of products (including enterprise offerings) and Parallels Access solutions.

“The Greater China region is a rapidly growing market for Parallels in Asia Pacific, and we’re seeing a strong demand for Parallels Desktop for Mac products here,” said Eugenio Ferrante, general manager, Cross-Platform Solutions Business in Parallels Asia Pacific. “It’s exciting to see enterprises, businesses and consumers seamlessly run Windows and Mac applications side-by-side with Parallels Desktop and do everything they need to on one computer. Parallels Desktop 9 includes a complementary six-month subscription to the Parallels Access software. We love to hear from delighted customers who are now able to run all of their Windows and Mac applications via their iPad with Parallels Access.”

According to a statement by Parallels, the company recently appointed a local distributor in mainland China, ECS, as well as added additional online resellers in the last few months - including, and – to meet the increasing demand for cross-platform solutions.

ECS, a leading ICT product distributor in Asia Pacific, will distribute the Chinese version of the award-winning Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac to its extensive network of Apple Resellers, mass merchants and select retail outlets throughout the country, the company said in a statement.  

Parallels also announced two key appointments, Philip Zhao as sales director and Daemon Liu, marketing manager, to continue to drive the rapid growth in the Greater China region.
