OpenPort appoints new COO to lead growth in SEA

OpenPort has named Morten Damgaard as its new chief operating officer (COO). Based in Singapore, he will assume the position from June 2016.

OpenPort is a provider of mobile technology solutions for the logistics sector. Its Open Enterprise Logistics (OEL) digital platform transforms domestic distribution in emerging markets by creating a direct, transparent relationship between shippers and carriers.

As the new COO, Damgaard will take over the management of the daily global operations of OpenPort, which include the alignment of the company's investments with its competitive strategies. He will also assume regional responsibility for OpenPort in South East Asia (SEA).

Prior to joining OpenPort, Damgaard has was most recently the Chief Executive Officer in SEA of Agility Logistics. He has also held executive positions with Damco/Maersk Logistics based in Asia, including Hong Kong, China, and Singapore.
