Nutanix inks global partnership with SAP

Enterprise computing company, Nutanix, has entered into a global partnership with multi-national software corporation, SAP. This partnership will enable customers to leverage the Nutanix Web-scale infrastructure solution to run their business-critical SAP applications.

These include enterprise resource management (ERP), business warehouse, and customer relationship management (CRM). In addition, the Nutanix Xtreme Computing Platform (XCP) is on the supported hardware list for the SAP NetWeaver technology platform.

Nutanix senior vice-president of engineering and product management, Sunil Potti, said Nutanix XCP is now ready to run SAP enterprise applications on a wide range of high-performance platforms, including VMware vSphere, that can dramatically simplify the deployment, management and scaling of datacentre infrastructure.

“Unlike traditional converged architectures, Nutanix solutions natively integrate server, storage and virtualisation resources into a simple scale-out appliance that can help customers reduce the high cost and complexity of their legacy hardware architectures.

“Nutanix is proud to have met SAP’s stringent testing criteria to become a supported platform for running SAP NetWeaver and nearly all SAP business applications,” he said.

Potti also mentioned that the partnership will make advanced Web-scale infrastructure available to thousands of SAP customers globally, enabling more agile and cost-effective IT.

In addition to offering full compatibility, Nutanix and SAP have entered into a collaborative technical support agreement that aims to give customers a seamless support experience when optimising their environment and resolving issues.

SAP executive vice-president for business development and strategic eco-system, Kevin Ichhpurani, said the new hyperconverged solution from Nutanix will enable its customers to scale their businesses quicker while reducing IT complexity.

“With the SAP-certified offering from Nutanix, organisations can now run their critical SAP applications in production leveraging the power of VMware vSphere on the Nutanix platform,” he added.
