The solution uses semantic processing and linked data to provide insights that would otherwise be unseen in organisations data.

New South Wales' (NSW) Division of Resources & Energy of the Department of Industry (DRE) has tapped on big data company, Latize, to address the data mining function used in mine safety, environmental, licensing, royalties and reporting compliance analysis.

In particular, DRE will leverage Latize's Ulysses solution which uses semantic processing and linked data to provide insights.

Latize along with its local partner, Small Multiples, will jointly implement the solution. They will firstly focus on mine stages, and at a later stages work on integrating the solution with several other systems within the division.

"Latize is proud to announce our landmark win in New South Wales, the Division of Resources & Energy of the Department of Industry," said Vikram Mengi, Co-Founder and CEO of Latize, in a press release.  "We look forward to working together to implement our solutions and support the division's efforts in harnessing data to benefit their operations."
