NEC and Toyota Tsuho to improve Kazakhstan’s safety and security

In return, NEC and Toyota Tsusho will gain access to information on potentially valuable investment projects and partnership opportunities with Kazakhstan-based companies.

KAZNEX INVEST - Kazakhstan's National Export and Investment Promotion Agency - will be working with NEC and Toyota Tsusho Corporation to explore security solutions that will help support the development of Kazakhstan's economy.

NEC will share information on how its public safety products, such as facial recognition tool and behaviour analyser solution, can improve the safety and security of the country.

"By leveraging these advanced technologies (ie. biometrics) we aim to establish safer communities and more desirable business conditions by improving the safety and security of Kazakhstan," said Hiroshi Kawada, Department Manager, Americas and EMEA Division, NEC Corporation.

So far, NEC and Toyota Tsusho Corporation - a global trading company and provider of security solutions - have implemented a proof of concept (POC) with an infrastructure firm in the Kazakhstan. The POC uses NEC's facial recognition technology to verify identities of individuals as they enter the company.

On KAZNEX INVEST's end of the partnership, it will identify potentially valuable investment projects and partnerships with Kazakhstan-based companies for NEC and Toyota Tsusho.
