NCS bags double awards

The vendor is recognised for its work in developing and managing LTA portals and services at the 3rd Land Transport Excellence Awards 2012.

Singapore-based systems integrator NCS has bagged two awards at the third Land Transport Excellence Awards (LTEA) 2012, organised by Singapore's Land Transport Authority (LTA).

The Awards recognises organisations and individuals who have contributed to Singapore's transport scene. This year, 23 individuals and organisations were honoured at the awards ceremony across 19 categories. In all, this year's LTEA attracted 115 entries from both corporations and individuals across various sectors of the land transport industry.

For developing and managing several portals and services, NCS was conferred the Best System Delivery Partner award. NCS also won the award for Most Creative Promotion/ Campaign (Land Transport). This category recognises creative excellence in land transport promotion in the public relations, media or publishing industry.

NCS was commissioned by the LTA to develop the ONE.MOTORING, OnePayHub, PublicTransport@SG and MyTransport.SG portal and services.

"NCS' ability to understand the whole value chain in urban transport management has enabled us to provide effective and innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of the Singapore transport landscape," said Chia Wee Boon, chief executive officer, NCS.

"Looking ahead, we envision greater use of next generation technologies such as business intelligence and analytics to further enhance the convenience and the commuting experience of the public," he added.

Meanwhile, IBM won the Best Collaboration Partner award for its work in green IT, e-payment solutions and analytics. Local startup WeesWares was acknowledged for its mobile apps Trafficam SG, Carpark@SG and Traffic@SG, while developer Muh Hon Cheng was recognised for his work in apps SG Buses and SG NextBus for Mobile Platforms.
