NAMCO BANDAI Studios sets up Singapore content development arm

Jack Loo | April 30, 2013
Singapore location puts the new company in close proximity with NAMCO BANDAI partners from the region

NAMCO BANDAI Studios set up a Singapore developer studio which the Japanese games giant say will come up with content for the regional market.

The company said that it chose Singapore because the government is positioning the digital content creation as one of the country's leading verticals.

Also, many of NAMCO BANDAI Studios' important partner companies, which collaborate in developing content, are based on the Southeast Asian region.

The new company will be based in Mediapolis in the One North district to which the Singaporean government is trying to invite media companies to set up there.

At the same time, the studio said it would work with Singapore government and education bodies to nurture game developer talents.
