Microsoft details mouse-focused Windows 8.1 Update

Brad Chacos | April 3, 2014
The new update isn't as exhaustive as Windows 8.1 was itself, but it'll still bring a smile to the faces of traditional PC users.

Don't think Microsoft's tossing the baby out with the bathwater, though. "What we've done to make touch great is unaffected by these changes," said Microsoft exec Joe Belfiore. "They're still present, but not required for mouse and keyboard users."

The free Windows Store 8.1 update will become available via Windows Update--not the Windows Store--on Tuesday, April 8. Until then, you can check out all the new features in this slideshow.
