Following the signing of a five-year partnership agreement with cloud data analytics company Cloudera, Malaysia's platform services firm Sedania Innovator has distribution rights in Malaysia and access to the Southeast Asian market.
Under agreement signed recently, Sedania Innovator has rights to provide Cloudera data analytics services to corporations in Malaysia and South East Asia region.
Cloudera was represented by regional director, ASEAN & India, Joseph Lee and Sedania Innovator managing director Datuk Azrin Mohd Noor, who said, "The exponential adoption of advanced technologies by end-users across the South East Asia region has generated enormous amounts of digital data, and simultaneously created huge demand for enterprise solutions to gain insight on consumer behaviour to formulate future strategies."
"We certainly recognize the immense potential in this space, and are already actively engaging with prospective customers across the telecommunications, utilities and banking sectors to provide data analytics services. We look forward to a successful rollout together with Cloudera in the near future," he said.
Cloudera's Lee said: "Southeast Asia, Malaysia included, presents very exciting prospects for Cloudera. We believe that the data analytics market in this region is poised for a boom, given the rate of the population's embrace of digital frontiers in commerce and various lifestyle-disruption technologies."
He cited IDC research that expected the global data analytics market to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 23.1 percent per year from 2014 to 2019, with the market value increasing from US$17.2 billion to US$48.6 billion in the same period.
"This venture would enable both SEDANIA Innovator and Cloudera to capture sizable market share in the big data analytics market, in light of Cloudera's comprehensive service offerings and IDC's prediction of almost US$80million spending in Malaysia for Big Data Analytics by the year of 2018," Lee added.
