Malaysian online recruitment firm JobStreet.com has launched its latest iPhone app called 'Jobs Near Me' to help jobseekers find their preferred work location with a shake of their iPhone, said the company.
Speaking in early April 2012, JobStreet.com head of product management, Aina Zahari, said: "Forty-five percent of jobseekers in Malaysia that we surveyed last year said that they could not find a suitable job at their preferred location. So, to make it more convenient for jobseekers to find and apply for jobs, JobStreet.com is excited to launch this latest initiative."
"With just a shake of the iPhone, all the job opportunities available near the jobseeker's ideal work location will appear on the map view," said Aina. "It is simple to use. Jobseekers can find their dream jobs at their preferred locations, for example near their house, the train station or even at popular work locations conveniently."
"Jobseekers can also refine the job search results by using keywords, or filtering by specialisation and position level," she said. "Jobs matching the search criteria will appear on their iPhone. Jobseekers can then view job advertisement details and apply to the jobs they like. Jobseekers can also get travel directions and estimated travel times to the company locations easily. They can also avoid traffic jams and take advantage of public transportation by searching for jobs near the LRT, Monorail, or KTM stations, which are shown on the map."
The new version of the JobStreet iPhone app is now available for download from the Apple App Store. JobStreet mobile apps are also available for free for Blackberry and phones with the Android operating system.
