Malaysia's ANGKASA renews Unisys contract for another 5 years

Malaysia's cooperatives body continues with ClearPath software and other services from Unisys.

Malaysia's apex body of the cooperative movement, ANGKASA, has renewed its contract for another five years with Unisys, which will continue to supply consulting and ClearPath software to support the body's core payroll system.

Under the five-year contract, Unisys will continue to provide ANGKASA (Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia) with software for ClearPath Libra systems including Unisys Enterprise Application Environment, ClearPath ePortal,  Enterprise Output Manager as well as technical and application development consultancy and hardware maintenance services.

Unisys Asia South sales director technology, consulting and integration solutions, Jahangir Mohamed Naina, said, "The Unisys ClearPath environment provides ANGKASA with the flexibility to rapidly respond to changing marketing needs and unpredictable business workloads created by growing web usage, combined with the high level of reliability and security required to support financial transactions."

ANGKASA, which acts as a payment gateway between the employer of its co-operative members and credit institutions to provide automated payment of monthly subscriptions, loan instalments, insurance payments and other dues via payroll, has been using the Unisys ClearPath technology has since 1996 to run its core payroll deduction application.

In addition, ANGKASA's 5,000 co-operatives members provide training, education and entrepreneurial coaching as well as administrative support services to its members.
