Mahindra Satyam implements Oracle solution for Qatar University

Oracle E-Biz Suite R12 streamlines business processes for different departments.

SHENZHEN, CHINA, 14 APRIL 2011- Mahindra Satyam will implement the Oracle E-Biz Suite R12 for Qatar University over the coming nine months.

Mahindra Satyam is the brand name of global consulting and IT services provider Satyam Computer Services and Qatar University is the largest academic institution in Qatar.

This enterprise resource planning (ERP) contract will cover the end-to-end implementation of the Oracle solution and would streamline the various business processes of the university’s different departments.

The solution suite will also provide real time MIS abilities so that the management is able to make better decisions, according to sources Mahindra Satyam which also notes that they landed the contract given their experience in Oracle ERP implementations in Qatar and across the world.

Automation of business functions

Prior to implementing Oracle E-Biz Suite R12, the university was facing challenges related to the automation and integration of various business functions.

This posed a hindrance in increasing productivity and thus Qatar University decided to deploy Oracle’s solution that promises to deliver several benefits such as visibility and availability of real time management information system (MIS).

The solution also helps in the standardisation of business processes, creates a smoother business work flow and enables better inventory control and optimisation.

“This project complements the country’s move towards developing smart cities and reinforcing the education sector’s vital role in the development of the same,” said Saeed Rashid Al-Athba, IT director, Qatar University. “The implementation of Oracle's comprehensive product suite will help us strengthen financial management and control, supply chain management, customer service and HR functionalities.”
