Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home in Singapore recently went live with the Napier Nursing Home solution.
The move aims to standardise operations and improve workflows to improve employee productivity, operational efficiency and resident-care provider communications, as required by the Ministry of Health.
"With this system running, we are able to halve the number of tasks that the nurses, administrators and billing staff previously had to perform in order to ensure that the essential documentation on residents and their accounts were accurate," said Then Kim Yuan, Administrator, Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home.
"In addition, before we had this system in place, there were gaps and instances of miscommunication between the different departments, which unnecessarily used up our budgets. With this system now, all that is minimised," he added.
Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home has also started running its Admission, Discharge & Transfer (ADT), Billing, Clinical and Pharmacy processes on a secure cloud.
This allows the nursing, administration and billing (finance), medical and support staff to easily and quickly access, update and share residents' detailed information via their wirelessly connected tablets and other smart devices. Consequently, doctors and nurses can better plan, execute and record the administration of medication and care of residents.
"The nurses have been enthusiastic about learning to use the new system to improve the care of our residents. In fact, we have an 80-year-old senior nurse who took to the system almost immediately because it was so easy to use and made her job easier," said Then.
"The clinical team too have learnt and adapted well to working with the system, and they like how it has helped them handle their administrative and clinical tasks-making them more productive, happy and error-free," he added.
