Inmarsat bolsters CRM with Outbox

In-house IT team can focus on innovation instead

Inmarsat has brought in Outbox Group to bolster its customer relationship management systems.

The global mobile data satellite company was searching for third parties to supplement its internal IT teams and provide long-term maintenance and development support.

This needed to be done quickly as it was part way through a major re-implementation of its Wholesale Business Support System, a central part of its CRM.

Outbox is providing integration with Inmarsat's existing PeopleSoft system to "rapidly increase the level of service Inmarsat is now able to offer customers", said Inmarsat.

Kevin Kavanagh, senior director of group IT delivery at Inmarsat, said: "Our customers operate in a range of fast-paced industries and rely heavily on Inmarsat to provide a reliable and secure connection.

"Failing to do this impacts both our reputation and that of our customers. Working with Outbox helps ease some of the pressures on our IT department and increases our IT employee productivity."

He said: "Outsourcing some of our workload has allowed our in-house teams to focus on Inmarsat's growth and success whilst knowing our core systems are in good hands."
