Honouring IT luminaries in Singapore

Executive Networks Media Staff Writer | Oct. 18, 2016
Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Singapore, grabs the lion’s share of the Computerworld Singapore Readers Choice Awards 2016.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Singapore, stole the show at the 21st edition of the Computerworld Singapore Readers Choice Awards (RCA) by winning 5 out of the 24 available categories.

Commonly acknowledged as the 'Oscars of the Singapore IT industry', the awards were presented tonight at Raffles Hotel, Singapore.

Other stellar performers include Dell EMC, Microsoft Singapore, and SAP Singapore, which scooped up two trophies each.

Rounding up the honour roll were Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, Citrix, Check Point Software Technologies, F5 Networks, IBM Singapore, Intel Security, Lenovo, OpenText (Asia), Symantec Corporation, Salesforce.com, Trend Micro, Veeam Software, and VMware.

In the annual RCA programme, awards go to service and product providers that score the highest in the areas of price, performance, feature sets, reliability and ease of use - as they are evaluated and ranked by Computerworld Singapore readers, who represent the core community of enterprise IT users in the country. As such, the programme not only serves up the best measure of excellence in IT solution and services delivery by the vendor community, but also functions as a bellwether of trends in IT purchasing and deployment in Singapore.

There are altogether 24 categories divided into eight award sections: Communications, Cloud, Enterprise Applications, Hardware, Security, Storage, Services and Virtualisation.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Singapore, bagged the award for the following categories: Infrastructure-as-a-Service, Mid-Range Servers, High-End Enterprise Serves, Consulting and Integration, as well as Support and Maintenance.

Dell EMC edged out its competitors to win the Networked Storage and Storage Virtualisation categories.

Repeating its wins last year, Microsoft Singapore took home the trophies for the Platform-as-a-Service and Software-as-a-Service categories.

Besides being undefeated in the Enterprise Resource Planning category, SAP Singapore this year also emerged victorious in the Business Intelligence & Data Analytics category.

Mark Hobson, Chief Executive Officer, Executive Networks Media, lauded the winners' outstanding determination and passion to support their customers."The RCA winners deserve a standing ovation and recognition from the industry for delivering top technologies and services. They have helped customers get top dollar ROI from their technology investments, and supported those organisations' digital transformation efforts over these past 12 months," he said.
