Global integrated healthcare provider Sanofi has moved all its HR operations covering over 100 countries into the cloud with the Workday human capital management (HCM) platform.
Sanofi plans to consolidate several on-premise legacy software systems with one unified application in the cloud.
Sanofi said it wants to "create and integrate new global processes to reduce time and effort spent by HR on administrative tasks, and take advantage of analytics for more informed and strategic decision-making". It also wants to "empower managers and employees with greater self-service capabilities delivered in an intuitive user experience".
Sanofi's human resources function had embarked on a transformation strategy to create a new operating and service delivery model that would best support the business and global workforce.
The company identified the need for a truly global and integrated application and one that would remove complexity associated with its current processes and systems diversity. At the same time it wanted a flexible and more effective way for HR to interact with managers and employees.
With Workday HCM Sanofi expects to replace a number of large HR applications with one unified cloud-based HCM application for core HR and talent management for the entire company.
Meanwhile, with Workday Talent Management Sanofi expects to offer its managers more visibility on the strengths and talents of employees so that they can access wider pools of potential candidates for key roles in support of the expected future growth of the company.
Earlier this week it was announced that BT was moving its global HR function into the cloud with Oracle covering 88,000 staff.
