Fujitsu’s Global Delivery Centre in Cebu Business Park will open 400 job opportunities for Filipinos living in the city.

Japan-based IT service provider, Fujitsu, has expanded its Global Delivery Centre (GDC) network in the Philippines with the launch of its office in Cebu City last Tuesday (17 October).

The satellite office, which is located in Cebu Business Park, is the extension of Fujitsu's GDC in Manila. It will provide business application development support for Fujitsu's customers in Japan.

Meanwhile, Fujitsu said the new satellite office will open 400 job opportunities for citizens in Cebu over the next two years. The company explained that the high population of technically-skilled workers who can speak multiple languages made the city an obvious choice for their GDC satellite office.

"Our Global Delivery Centers are strategically located to offer customers access to a consistently high quality service and pool of dynamic and talented employees with high technical and multilingual skills. When expanding our GDC in the Philippines beyond Manila, Cebu was an obvious choice. We are fortunate that many Cebuanos speak Japanese, as well as being great software developers," said Arlene Gregorio, head of Fujitsu's GDC in the Philippines.
