Fujitsu and Acecook have teamed on building a shared distribution-information system for Japanese companies doing business in Vietnam.
The distribution network of Acecook Vietnam and Fujitsu Vietnam handling system operations will be used for the trials.
This shared distribution-information system is expected to go into full-scale operation in March 2017.
Looking forward, both Fujitsu and Acecook will study the potential for bringing the system to Myanmar and other ASEAN nations.
Capturing local data
Both partners will build a system for capturing data from contracted local carriers, including vehicle infrastructure and trip logs.
The shared distribution-information system will use this data to plan vehicle dispatching more efficiently and track progress.
Ultimately, the system will be able to improve vehicle utilisation, vehicle capacity utilisation, and reduce distribution costs.
Fujitsu is building a shared distribution-information system based on its own FUJITSU Logistics Solution Logifit series for this Vietnam project.
Acecook Vietnam intends to begin trial operations in June 2016 to assess its use in Ho Chi Minh City. Once trials are over, both Fujitsu Vietnam and Acecook Vietnam will seek Japan-based companies to use the system, and will offer the system jointly.
