FY Teng | April 7, 2014
New products launched by the information management solutions vendor just before the weekend and their relevance to Asian enterprises.

EMC Global Services is a key driving force in EMC's growth strategy. Apart from providing implementation and residency services, we are also focused on consultancy services for our enterprise customers and assist them in their move to the third platform (Cloud, Mobile, Big Data and Social). EMC continues to invest in ensuring the best personalised customer experience while unlocking values for organisations with the right solutions and the best industry support.

Comment on the importance of Asia to EMC's business, and how you expect your latest announcements will be received in these markets.
Asia continues on its upward trajectory with analysts forecasting ASEAN, India and China to be amongst the possible 'future states' of the global economic and business environment.

Asia is a key growth market for EMC, with tremendous growth opportunity for EMC to expand its mid-market product portfolio to meet customer demands for cost effective enterprise-class solutions.

In mature markets such as Hong Kong and Singapore, EMC Data Protection solutions are key in allowing businesses to accelerate their virtualisation efforts and deliver IT as-a-service. We have many examples of where multinational companies have standardised on EMC services across Asia.

In emerging markets such as Southeast Asia, Greater China and India, we see a large demand for our solutions, with businesses focusing on cost effectiveness while managing data growth and meeting legal and regulatory compliances.

The new enhancements to EMC's Data Protection Suite and Data Domain OS 5.5 are game changing in many areas. An industry first, EMC provides customers the scalability from using native backup tools to enterprise-level data protection solutions, which is important for emerging markets as customers are now able to size-up their IT investments as they grow in their data protection requirements.
