Founders of seven startups from Hong Kong and around the world met hundreds of potential investors at the DBS Accelerator Demo Day held in Hong Kong on 1 November 2016.
They showcased fintech solutions that leverage artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain technology, gamification and more.
The startups are Flowcast, FOMO Pay, Hampen Technology, Mindlayer.io, NetGuardians, Playbasis and XinGuo Technology, DBS said in a press statement on 2 November 2016.
They were selected from more than 150 applicants from around the world, including Hong Kong, Singapore, China, Thailand and the United States (U.S.).
DBS Accelerator is a collaborative initiative between DBS Bank (Hong Kong) and Hong Kong-based startup incubator Nest. It aims to create opportunities for innovators across Asia and around the world to shape the future of finance.
"Accelerators play a critical role in the Asian startup ecosystem and in supporting innovation," said Lawrence Morgan, Chief Executive Officer, Nest. "[DBS Accelerator] provides vast resources, mentor support and dedicated work and office space for startups. [It allows startups to] test their solutions and find validation in a commercial setting over a short time frame."
