Protect: This refers to protection from organised attacks to everyday behaviours of employees that unknowingly enable cyber theft. Data Protection will remain a key priority for all businesses. This ranges from securing the devices to better protecting data and from small businesses to large carriers. It also covers both traditional purchases and BYOD initiatives.
How are you and your organisation responding to current trends and moving towards helping them solve these problems?
With the shift towards increased technology choice and mobility, business leaders continue to face the need to be more mobile-led and to take advantage of the value of creating IT infrastructures to support digitally savvy workers today. There is a strong need for businesses to modernise their proprietary, legacy systems and transition to infrastructure that is open, more efficient and scalable.
While there is no one size fits all solution for IT issues that organisations today face, businesses would do well to adopt scalable yet simple-to-use solutions that can increase productivity, responsiveness and efficiency. As their environments become more complex, it would benefit businesses to embrace a modular "building block" philosophy that allows them to add-to their capabilities as needed giving them the ability to do more and buy more as their business grows. At the same time, having the right set of software applications can help simplify operations, maximise workforce productivity and deliver faster results.
Since 2010, Dell has announced 20 acquisitions to build out our enterprise solutions portfolio, thereby allowing us to expand our offerings beyond PCs to include end-to-end IT solutions from the device to the data centre to the cloud. Today, we are able to offer solutions that help customers manage devices, enhance security, scale and boost user productivity, while providing the flexibility to support anytime, anywhere access on any device. The acquisitions enable Dell to offer total solutions, making it easier for customers to do business with us instead of dealing with multiple vendors. Our solutions and services are designed to help customers benefit from the convergence of storage, servers, networking and IT management for improved data centre simplicity and performance.
Our various acquisitions continue to build up our expertise and offerings in the various areas outlined under the four key themes of Transform, Connect, Inform, Protect.
Under the theme Transform, some acquisitions that add to our new offerings around cloud computing include Enstratius, our latest acquisition, and Gale Technologies.
With consumerisation of IT and BYOD still seeing much traction, our acquisition of Quest Software, the award-winning IT management software provider, expands our customer offering to a broad selection of solutions that solve the most common and most challenging IT problems, under the theme Connect.
