CIO Asia's CIO Awards 2013: The Triumphant Five

T.C. Seow | March 27, 2013
Projects that have wide social impact earned our judges' praise in this year's CIO 100 and Awards programme.

What an award programme it was this year. Neither did we expect the quality of some of the nominations to be so high, while others impressed our judges with innovative ways of IT implementation to improve service quality all round.

The winners
Realising business value underlines the IT project awards for this year. Diving deep into infrastructural setup and deriving more value from IT are the prominent signs highlighted among this year's prestigious CIO Asia CIO Awards winners.

The winners—selected by a panel of independent judges from a 'Roll of Honour' short list, the CIO 100 2013 Index—are Hong Kong's CLP Holdings Limited; Singapore's International SOS, Integrated Health Information Systems and National Healthcare Group Pharmacy (Singapore); Manila Water Company, Inc.; and Ministry of Manpower of Singapore, Occupational Safety & Health Division.

CLP Holdings Limited (Hong Kong): Renewables Portfolio Management System
Headquartered in Hong Kong, CLP is an electricity utility company. The project was to implement a common and centrally hosted platform with live monitoring capabilities to improve the operational and strategic management of fast-growing renewables investment (wind and solar) in the CLP Group, supporting the complete lifecycle management of renewable projects from investment analysis, project development to plant operations and investment optimisation. The system provides the foundation to support business development initiatives, disseminate plant operations, maintenance and critical operational information for project stakeholders and senior executives who are located at the plant sites, country and regional headquarters. A first of its kind, the system represents leading edge IT solution that has earned positive feedback from industry peers and experts from around the world.
