In Formula One (F1), the ability to transfer and communicate data in a fast and reliable manner is a game changing criteria as every millisecond makes a difference.
"The ability to freely and quickly communicate and exchange information will help our engineers at the track gather the right data to configure the cars," said Christian Horner, Infiniti Red Bull Racing's team principal.
Understanding this, telco AT&T has been providing Infiniti Red Bull Racing with advanced network services since 2011 so that the team remains connected wherever they are.
Among the services provided is the AT&T mobility service. It allows trackside team members to easily communicate and work with their colleagues from the factory using smartphones.
The team will also have full control over all mobile devices accessing their corporate apps and content using an AT&T mobile device management solution. With it, they can monitor and block potentially harmful websites and applications. If a device is lost or stolen, important data from the device can be remotely wiped too so that it does not end up in the wrong hands.
To further improve their communication capabilities, Infiniti Red Bull Racing has deployed AT&T's unified communication solutions featuring instant messaging. The F1 team also plans to implement IP-based phone services, presence and video conferencing in future.
