Car insurance provider Admiral Group is using Teradata analytics software to support business transformation plans and help it bring new products to market faster.
The Cardiff-based firm, which has 3.9 million customers in the UK, chose Teradata Data Warehouse Appliance to provide end-to-end reporting, business intelligence and advanced analytics functionality.
The data warehouse will also enhance its recent investment in Guidewire software platforms to cover new policy administration and billing operations. The deployment is aimed at increasing operational efficiencies to more easily implement product and system changes, as well as configuring standardising policy and billing practice to improve accuracy.
"Teradata's solution is going to enhance our data management capabilities and enable faster decision-making," said Charlotte Bennett, head of IT, Admiral Group.
"We were specifically looking for a new platform to support enhanced analytics, reporting and operational activities across multiple business functions.
"The Teradata Data Warehouse Appliance will provide a robust foundation for our strategic plans and future business innovation, while having the capability to accommodate new data and applications."
Insurance firms are coming under increasing pressure to modernise systems and invest in digital technologies as a range of companies, including large tech firms such as Google and Amazon, begin to move into the market.
