Basheer Cassim is an entrepreneur, with a passion for taking new innovations to markets and making a positive impact on the way people live and work.

Basheer is the CEO of Ventes, a cloud software firm helping companies create new revenue opportunities via big data analytics. Prior to Ventes, Basheer led one the largest sales organizations in the Asia Pacific & Japan region as Senior Vice President and Managing Director at ServiceSource, the revenue management cloud software company. Previously, he was a pioneer in data analytics as CEO of Eurobios in London. Basheer also held a number of senior sales and general management positions with global high technologies companies in the US, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Basheer was a member of executive teams taking companies through M&A and to IPO. Basheer holds an MBA from the London Business School and a Master in Finance from the University of Paris at Dauphine. He is a French national with Singapore permanent residency.

Why did you decide to become an entrepreneur?

I've always had an entrepreneurial attitude, driven by the desire to be successful in my professional life. I always wanted to be the person in charge, taking responsibility and making the big decisions. That attitude helped me have a successful corporate career. During my first assignment as a CEO, I realized I could be even more successful working for myself rather than continuing with an existing company. It was a natural transition to become an entrepreneur.

Why did you choose to set up your startup in Singapore? What is your venture about?

Singapore is an excellent location to start a company if you are in the software/internet industry and want to target the larger Asia-Pacific region. It has a start-up friendly environment, with advantageous taxes and access to sources of funding. It is also a great place to raise a family and gave me piece of mind so I could freely concentrate on the startup.

Our start-up is called VENTES and our solution is a "Sales Acceleration Platform" that enables companies to dramatically increase revenue growth by generating new sales opportunities via "big data" analytics.

We have designed and built an innovative product that addresses the most important problem facing sales and marketing organizations of the majority of companies around the world.  Our innovation includes the way in which we have integrated components needed to solve the complex and rapidly growing problem of how to use the ever-growing volume of data to drive new sales and grow revenue. 

Envisioned, designed and engineered in Singapore, our technology will scale globally to allow VENTES to deliver accelerated growth results to customers in any market worldwide.
