The trustee of the UK's largest pension fund for higher education organisations in the UK has signed an IT outsourcing deal with Civica to host its IT infrastructure.
Universities Superannuation Scheme Limited (USS Limited), based in Liverpool and London, has assets of approximately £38 billion.
In 2012 USS made the decision to virtualise all of its ICT operations and after going out to tender, opted to place its infrastructure in Civica's data centres.
"USS Limited is committed to providing a fast, effective, and above all, secure service to our customers and this agreement has enabled us to ensure that our pensions and investment service is supported by high quality ICT infrastructure," said Philip Moss, the IT Infrastructure Manager, at USS.
"We already have a partnership with Civica and worked with them to develop our pensions management software, delivering an improved service for our members."
In other news, Lambeth Learning Futures recently signed an eight year ICT managed service deal with Civica to provide technology and support to schools across the London borough, a service which had previously been provided by RM Education.
