In line with the enhancements Symantec made to its Partner Programme in April this year, the cyber security company plans to host its annual Symantec Partner Engage on the 13-15 September in Hong Kong, to highlight its partner strategy.
The enhanced Symantec Partner Programme (eSPP) introduces initiatives intended to help the company’s partners build competitive advantage and recognition as well as increase profitability, said David Dzienciol, vice president, Channels and SMB, Asia Pacific and Japan, Symantec. For instance, it includes a new requirement - ‘Specialisations’ – designed to reward the knowledge and experience a partner has in a solution area or market, Dzienciol elaborated. The specialisation areas to date are Enterprise Security, Endpoint Management, Data Loss Prevention, IT Compliance, Data Protection, Archiving and eDiscovery, Storage Management, High Availability and Small and Mid-sized Business (SMB).
Symantec has also introduced a new category–Master Specialisations –intended to promote partners with advanced consulting, technical and service capabilities in several of the solution areas, he added.
Symantec’s partners include some of the technology industry’s innovative specialists from more than 60,000 companies, according to Dzienciol.
Senior leaders from Symantec’s partner companies in the South Asia region are expected to attend the Symantec Partner Engage event. Some of the companies are Singapore’s NCS, Malaysia’s Mesiniaga and Indonesia’s Mitra Integrasi Informatika, noted Dzienciol.
The upcoming event will feature Symantec executives including Dzienciol himself who will further discuss how the company plans to deliver on its eSPP.
This year, the event programme will focus on current industry trends such as virtualisation, cloud computing and mobility.
