Q&A: BYOD is here to stay

Zafar Anjum | Aug. 5, 2013
There is no use fighting the BYOD trend. BYOD is further entrenched in the workplace than many IT managers realise, says Tim Harris, Managing Director, BT SEA.

BT's integrated approach is designed to help CIOs deploy smart devices on a large scale while improving end-user experience. To popularise BYOD, the two main concerns - security and network readiness, need to be addressed adequately. Through deploying wireless solutions to provide a seamless user experience while implementing enhanced infrastructure security, we believe the benefits of BYOD can be reaped and its pitfalls can be avoided.

About the BYOD research

This research was undertaken by Vanson Bourne for BT Global Services and Cisco in May 2013. 2,200 interviews were carried out with IT decision makers and office workers in medium to enterprise size organisations across 13 regions - UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Benelux, Turkey, USA, Brazil, China, India, Singapore and UAE - and in a range of sectors - Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), finance, logistics, retail, healthcare, energy, pharmaceutical and government.
