IT and BYOD users could get along if they learn to be flexible

By making sure what the user surfs is analysed for viruses and malware in the cloud, IT is able to set some level of security but it is important to remember to be flexible, Andresen warned.

"Control some applications, not the whole device," he said, mentioning that besides being flexible, this would also save IT managers a lot of time and stress.

You can't afford to ignore BYOD

BYOD was a buzzword a year ago, Andresen claims, but now companies are done with the hype and trials and moving on to deployment.

"No company can afford to ignore it," he said, "BYOD is changing how we work and use data."
