Singapore recognises business potential with IPv6 and is helping IT services companies in the nation to develop new business opportunities with this technology.
The IPv6 Forum (Singapore Chapter) has launched the first in global logo programme - IPv6 Readiness Assessment Partner (iRAP) to assist these companies to this end.
The iRAP Logo Programme will give incentives to Singapore companies to encourage the customers to start planning for the implementation of IPv6 Technologies in the coming months.
All qualified iRAP partners can use the awarded logo in the partner-branded marketing materials and the iRAP certification endorsed by the IPv6 Forum (Singapore Chapter). This process will demonstrate skills and experience a company has and help customers to assess the corporate IT infrastructure for the IPv6 network readiness.
"This programme will give incentives to the System Integrator and Solution Provider to encourage their client to start planning for the implementation IPv6 Technologies in the near future, the Readiness Assessment Exercise will bring the client closer to the System Integrator and become a technologies enablement partner" said Linus Tan, vice-chairman - IPv6 Forum (Singapore Chapter) Education Programme.
Planning for IPv6 implementation
The current IPv4 addresses have already exhausted and growth in mobile devices has driven many companies to start planning for IPv6 implementation.
All companies planning for the change have to ensure that the current technologies being used in the organization are compatible with IPv6.
Professional consultancy on IPv6 adoption is available that includes a hardware and software assessment and audit to determine the compatibility of existing technologies with IPv6.
Businesses also have the option to outsource IT services from a company with IPv6 expertise. They can also train the IT staff to configure, deploy and manage IPv6 technology.
"IPv6 Readiness for business is a new milestone in our incentive programmes to get you ready for the new opportunities in view of a myriad of the new mobile IoT services and mobile smart apps. Be a pioneer and a winner in this upcoming Internet of Everything," said Dr Latif Ladid, founder & president, IPv6 Forum.
