The digital agenda is emerging from IT teams or other roles like chief data officer, chief product officer or other C-Suite executives in many companies. CIOs who purely think about managing legacy estate are being marginalized.
What are your company's key differentiators as a technology provider in the digital domain?
We tend to think of our business as a sort of digital enablement tool kit in three pieces. The first one is the ability to help customers think through their customers' journey and the definition of products that will help them capitalize on the digital assets they have. Often times we find that these organizations struggle to hear each other. We help them bridge the gap between the digital agenda and traditional IT perspective and defining MVPs (minimum viable products) to get on to the path of becoming digital.
We have integrated that process and capability tightly with our hardcore platform and product engineering capabilities. Our USP is the ability to build those platforms and DNA to treat them as products; and also integrate them with different skillsets around design, customer experience, and user experience.
And the third pillar is around big data and analytics. Because digital agenda is not only delivering digital products and services, but responding in real-time to the business needs.
Do you mostly work with legacy companies or do you work with start ups as well?
We do a healthy amount of both. Fifteen years back, we started working in the product space with ISVs. But a decade ago we significantly shifted our GTM towards traditional companies trying to become more digital. That's a significant part of our business and we see a bigger revenue opportunity there. But we do value the connection with disruptor and the start up community in big way.
Which industry verticals do you cater to?
They would be the payments industry, fintech, media and publishing, travel and transportation, education and also automotive. We see the disruption and the market dynamics in those industries very relevant for our offerings.
What is the update on your India operations? And why should India Inc. work with NESS?
We are a couple of thousand people in India across three main centers at Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore. We are really not into general IT services projects but focused on platform engineering and digital transformation. We have long term relationships with existing customer organizations and we are bringing in new customers across verticals.
