We see the IT department directly engaging in initiatives and building the digital platforms that will help Avnet and our partners accelerate their businesses. For example, our IT team in the U.S. recently deployed the Avnet Cloud Marketplace - a one-stop shop that offers access to comprehensive solutions from leading cloud service providers, flexible payment models and sophisticated management and optimisation tools.
What advice would you provide to other service providers with regards to transforming the contract renewal process of their services?
Make it easy, so that customers will come and stay with you. This is true of any platform that you develop, whether it's for internal or external customers. Avnet uRenew has been successful so far because it clearly addressed the business challenge and captured the opportunity.
Also, the platform has been effective because we clearly understood the business problem that we were trying to "solve", and the business outcomes we were expecting from the solution. With this in place, the rest was just putting the technology together.
