VMware has added Brian Higgins and Jonas Berglund to its leadership team in Southeast Asia, the virtualisation and cloud infrastructure company announced on 21 September.

Brian Higgins has been appointed to the role of director, Channels and Alliances, and Jonas Berglund as senior manager, Professional Services, in Southeast Asia.

Both executives are based in Singapore and report to Jon Robertson, general manager in Southeast Asia, according to a media statement by the company.

Higgins will be responsible for implementing VMware's strategy to drive sales and enablement programmes and also manage VMware's channel organisation. He has spent the last 17 years in Asia Pacific, with extensive business and channel experience in global technology companies such as CA Technologies, Citrix Systems, IBM Cognos and SAP Business Objects. He was previously the regional director for ASEAN at Lawson Software.

Part of the VMware team during the mid-2000s in the United Kingdom, Berglund's return to the Singapore office will see him leading and managing a PSO team across Southeast Asia that includes implementation/managed services, project/engagement management, education services, partner management and technical account management (TAM) services, said VMWare in its statement.
