VMware Inc. has centralised its business mobility team in Asia Pacific and Japan as it seeks to aggressively seize opportunities in the region's emergent market for solutions in this field.

A press statement by the Palo Alto, California-based provider of cloud and virtualisation solutions said the sales team will be led by Sanjay Deshmukh, General Manager, Business Mobility, Asia Pacific and Japan.

"The integrated go-to market sales team will address customer demand for a holistic approach to managing IT, based on VMware's Architecture for New IT," the press statement said.

It explained the architecture enables any application to securely run on any device.

The press statement said the enterprise mobility solutions in the region—applications, devices, security, middleware and professional services—is projected to grow from US$19 billion in 2014 to US$24.3 billion by 2016.
