Visa has launched its first international campus in Singapore.
The university aims to offer digitalised co-curriculum to help Visa employees learn and discuss industry developments.
The campus will draw Visa employees to update their skills by attending new courses. For instance, employees will learn about Singapore's robust market by attending a course on cashless society.
In April, Visa launched a 7,000 square foot Innovation Centre in Singapore for clients, partners and developers across the region to work alongside its experts and create new, next-generation applications.
"Our goal is to foster a perpetual state of learning at Visa, where ideas-new and old- are welcomed and tested, and the culture and environment is both inclusive and open," Executive Vice President at Visa, Michael Ross said during the opening of the campus.
In an attempt to support digital transformation, employees will also be equipped with skills on electronic payment methods, customer relations and get trained on how to operate new devices.
The university will include classrooms, breakout rooms for small learning groups and lounge space for informal networking.
Singapore was chosen as the headquarter campus because of its modern and forward-thinking business environment, Visa said in a press release.
"Through this partnership with Singapore, Visa will strengthen the Pan-Asian perspectives of its talent pool and deepen its understanding of the diverse markets in needs across Asia. This will in turn strengthen Visa's leadership in developing innovative, tailored products and solutions for the region," said Kevin Wong, Assistant Managing Director at Singapore Economic Development Board.
