Singapore Computer Society (SCS) today (8 July 2015) announced the winners and the 10 Best Tech Companies to Work For at the inaugural awards ceremony held at the Four Seasons Hotel.

The four award winners are Microsoft Singapore and Ubisoft Singapore in the Large Organisations/MNCs category, JustCommodity Software Solutions in the Mid-sized Organisations category, and TreeBox Solutions in the Start-ups/Small Organisations category.

Awarding two winners in the large organisations/MNCs category was a tough decision, said Robert Chew, SCS Fellow, partner at venture capitalist firm iGlobe Partners and chairman of the awards steering committee. "Both winners have their own unique yet highly commendable practices which we don't see enough in many organisations. It's only fair in the eyes of the judges to give due recognition to both instead of just selecting one," he said.

According to the judges, Microsoft Singapore stands out for having established a well-designed staff development program across every level under the wings of a strong and supportive local leadership. Empowered by their technologies and resources, Microsoft has actively built a collaborative working environment. Apart from building internal relationships, Microsoft has also been involved in strengthening the local tech scene outside of their four walls. Receiving the award was Jessica Tan, managing director of Microsoft Singapore.

Ubisoft Singapore is no stranger to the local and regional gaming scenes. Ubisoft's local team contributes towards the development of their award winning game while spearheading new projects within the local office. Their belief in nurturing local talents in their specialised field has generated a fun, open and creative environment for continuous growth and excellence. Ubisoft Singapore was represented by Olivier de Rotalier, managing director, at the awards ceremony.

JustCommodity Software Solutions has established itself as the industry leading Commodity Trading and Risk Management software solution provider in Asia. JustCommodity acknowledges and celebrates people as the driving force behind their success story. They advocate a "Learn & Grow" environment, by which employees are given ample opportunities to further develop their own knowledge and skill base. This has contributed greatly to their energetic and dynamic workforce. The CEO Joel Lou received the award from SCS.

TreeBox Solutions was founded by Chong Chee Wah and his team in 2011, driven by a strong desire to develop military-grade mobile security in a world of mobile security threats. TreeBox boasts an authentic and sincere leadership which spends significant time and effort in their hiring process. They believe that finding the right hire is paramount to building a cohesive and collaborative work environment. The award was presented to Chong earlier today.
