ShoreTel appoints new VP and MD of APAC

Based in Singapore, Gilliant will lead ShoreTel’s go-to-market strategy across APAC with the goals of driving sales, expanding the partner ecosystem, developing new business and managing the sales and marketing operations in the region.

ShoreTel has named Frederic Gilliant as its new Vice President and Managing Director for Asia Pacific, the phone systems and unified communications solutions provider announced today (August 14, 2014).

According to the company's media statement, Gilliant will lead ShoreTel's go-to-market strategy across the region with the goals of driving sales, expanding the partner ecosystem, developing new business and managing the sales and marketing operations in the region.

Specifically, Gilliant is responsible for overseeing the regional sales team. In addition to directly leading the sales, channels, marketing and sales operations, Gillant will provide local leadership to support ShoreTel's regional growth plans.

Gilliant is a veteran in the industry with 24 years worth of experience. He also has a long working history in the APAC region including Singapore, Beijing, Taichung and Kuala Lumpur. Prior to joining the company, Gilliant was the Vice President of Unified Communications and Collaboration at Orange Business Services.

Following this new appointment, Gilliant will be based in Singapore and report directly to US-based David Petts, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales of ShoreTel.

"Gillant's business and leadership experience in the UC sector will be instrumental in driving growth for ShoreTel and its partners," said Petts. "He will work closely with our local teams and partner community toward ShoreTel's goals of gaining market share and capitalising on new market opportunities in the region."
