Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd, announced yesterday the appointment of Yong Sung Jeon as its new President and CEO of Southeasia Asia (SEA) & Oceania, while naming Stephen Suh as its President of Singapore - both effective immediately.
According to a media statement, Jeon replaces Moon Soo Kim, who has taken on a new role as the Head of Sales and Marketing, Visual Display Business in Korea. Meanwhile, Suh takes over Harry Lee, who has been appointed the President of Samsung Electronics Philippines.
In this new role, Jeon will lead the expansion of the Samsung Electronics business in SEA & Oceania to further strengthen the company's position in the region. With over a decade of experience as President in subsidiary markets, Jeon will provide the strategic guidance and local business knowledge to drive growth and operational integration of the region.
Jeon has been with the company since 1986; and has held executive positions in various markets including the United Kingdom, Taiwan, China and Thailand.
Suh was most recently the Vice President of APAC Sales & Marketing Group, Mobile Communication Division. During his time in Samsung, Suh also served in the Samsung Chairman's Office, as well as Corporate Auditing and Brand Strategy functions.
