Storage provider Seagate has appointed Rex Dong as its managing director of sales and marketing for Asia, excluding China and Japan.
In his role, Dong will be accountable for sales, marketing and business development in Asia in addition to his existing responsibilities as the company's country manager for Taiwan. He has been overseeing the sales and marketing operations of Seagate's Taiwan office since 2008.
Prior to joining Seagate in 1992, Dong was once the general manager of Portwell, and the president and senior vice president of Ennoconn Coporation - an embedded solutions provider owned by Foxconn Technology.
Commenting on the appointment, Seagate's senior vice president of global sales BanSeng Teh said that Dong's "leadership skills will enable him to organise and manage diverse teams across multiple countries," which will contribute to the growth of the company in Asia.
