Qantas will start the new year with a new technology chief with the appointment of international executive Luc Hennekens as chief technology officer.
Hennekens replaces Stephen Wilson who held the role since 2010 and left earlier this year.
Hennekens joins Qantas from New Zealand's gas and energy company Contact Energy where he was chief information officer for over five years, according to his Linkedin profile.
He has also previously held a director role at technology hardware giant Hewlett-Packard.
Qantas said the CTO role is responsible for the company's technology architecture and end user computing environment.
It is also responsible for aligning the technology strategy across the business under Qantas CIO Paul Jones.
