Prakash Mallya to lead Intel in Southeast Asia

Prakash Mallya has been appointed managing director for Intel, Southeast Asia, the chip manufacturer announced recently.

Mallya oversees all of Intel's sales, marketing and enabling of Intel products across Southeast Asia, the company said in a statement.

"With a young population and a rising middle class, Southeast Asia is an important growth market for Intel. Prakash has the vision and experience to lead Intel's growth across this dynamic region," said Gregory Bryant, vice president and general manager, Intel Asia-Pacific and Japan.

Mallya joined Intel in 2000 as a business development manager in India. Most recently, he served as Intel's country manager for Malaysia and Singapore.  Mallya is an REC Trichy graduate with a degree in electrical engineering and holds an MBA in marketing management from BIM Trichy. Mallya and his family will continue to be based in Singapore.
