Polycom has named Michael Frendo as its new Executive Vice President of Worldwide Engineering, the video and audio conferencing solutions provider announced on May 14.
His new role requires him to be responsible for global engineering delivery and execution, driving efficient business operations and lifecycle management for Polycom’s portfolio of video, voice and content collaboration solutions.
Prior to joining Polycom, Frendo has held several leadership positions at Infinera Corp., Avaya, Juniper Networks, McDATA Corp., and Cisco Systems.
Assuming his new role on May 13, Frendo is now a member of Polycom’s executive team and reports to Polycom’s President and CEO, Peter Leav, the company said in a statement.
“Making our customers successful and driving profitable growth are our top priorities and Michael brings a deep understanding of how engineering, quality and innovation must be aligned to solve our customers’ biggest challenges,” said Leav.
“He is also a well-respected executive and engineering leader with broad experience running product business units and globally distributed engineering organisations that deliver results,” he added.
