Philips names Fabian Wong as its new APAC CEO

In this new role, Wong is responsible for the overall strategy, business and management of Philips in 14 countries across the region.

Electronics company Philips has named Fabian Wong as its new Chief Executive Officer of Philips ASEAN and Pacific, effective from 1 July 2015. He also concurrently holds the role of Chairman of Philips Singapore.

In this new role, Wong is responsible for the overall strategy, business and management of Philips in 14 countries across the region. He is now based in Singapore and will report directly to Ronald De Jong, Philips' Chief Market Leader and member of the Executive Committee of Royal Philips.

According to a media statement, Wong has been with the company for over 15 years, holding various leadership roles across business management, marketing and sales. Prior to this new appointment, Wong was most recently the President of Philips Consumer Lifestyle, Greater China. He was also the member of the Philips Greater China Management Team and Philips Consumer Lifestyle Global Management Team.

Commenting on Wong's new appointment, De Jong said that he is confident that Wong will be able to bring Philips to the next level. "His leadership skills and focus on talent development will be instrumental to his new role as we look to capitalise on the wealth of growth opportunities in the region," he said.
